Summertime:

Summer is rolling along, although this year has been cooler and wetter than the last few.  Some of us are not complaining about the cooler temps.

Despite the weather, it has been another fun filled summer here in the Shuswap, boating, river floating, golf and festivals, there is always lots to do.  Of course we have work to get done as well.  For many of us it is the lifestyle that makes this area so attractive in addition to the challenging work we tend to take on.

Challenges:

Not everything is fun in the sun – we recognize some of the challenges our peers and customers are facing in Alberta.  Our hearts and best wishes go out to those affected by the Fort McMurray fires and those that have suffered due to the slowdown in the oil and gas market.  Although there is some optimism for the future ( nobody knows when things will turn around, just that they will at some point).  We would like to extend our thoughts and best wishes to our fellow Canadians in Alberta and for that matter everyone in the Oil Patch whether in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Texas and all points in between. 

QA/QC:

Back in January we put in place a new large envelope Zeiss CMM.  This has proven to be a great addition to our QA/QC group.  It is seeing service supporting production, first off’s  as well as being used for reverse engineering.  We have had some accounts with legacy parts with no known drawings.  We have been able to take measures and work up drawings to support production of these legacy parts that might otherwise never get built or perhaps built through a trial and error approach.  If you have a part that is broken or needs replacing, but do not have a drawing feel free to give us a call and we would be glad to help.

Markets:

A quick note to advise customers that we will be attending the 2016 ADSE ( Aerospace, Defence, Security Expo ) in Abbotsford August 11 and 12th, 2016.  It is always interesting to see what is going on in a variety of industries and we expect this show will be very interesting to see what is happening in the Canadian Defense and Aerospace markets.
